Borsdane Woods Photo Exhibition 2023

I've been invited to showcase a collection of my photographs at the Borsdane Woods exhibition.

I've been invited to showcase a collection of my photographs at the Borsdane Woods exhibition. I decided to feature only film shots, and since they were mainly taken on square 6x6 medium format film (thanks to my trusty Bronica SQ-Ai), but being square format the photographs were rectangular, I decided to accompany each photo with a haiku that reflects the tranquility of the woods and the sense of peace they offer since the frames I was to use were rectangular. I wanted to add a haiku to each photograph in the exhibition because I enjoy the depth and subtlety that can be achieved in this compact, structured form. It's like woodland photography in that sense: confined to a small space, but capable of expressing so much. Photography can really capture the essence of a place, revealing depth and atmosphere within a single frame. This is what I hoped to achieve with my exhibition, and I felt that adding a haiku to each photograph would enhance this feeling and add another dimension to the project. To create each print, I used Affinity Publisher to layout the image and haiku and I've exported each image to include in the gallery section of this project. Please click the images below to get a clearer view of each of the photographs and haikus.

Cheers
