Today we visited Heaton Park again, after last week's torrential rain stopped play. We went to ride the old trams that they have there, and today "96" was riding the rails. Built in 1901 by Hurst Nelson for the Hull Corporation, "96" was originally a double-decker, but had her top deck removed in 1933.
It's heartwarming that there are still folk out there who care for these ancient cars! To ride, adults are £2 each and under-5s are free, so for £4 we couldn't argue - they even give our tickets, which is a nice touch!
Huge thanks to Sharon the conductor, and Paul the Driver, today for being very friendly, and making us feel very welcome!
All the best,
Olly
